2x2 Rib Hat

As my husband likes to be outdoors there is always a need for a hat. This time I made a 2x2 rib hat. Sometimes it`s the simple things that work best.

Da mein Mann gerne draußen unterwegs ist, gibt es immer einen Bedarf an Mützen. Diesmal habe ich mich für ein 2x2 Rippenmuster entschieden. Manchmal sind es die einfachen Dinge, die am besten funktionieren.

Wickerwork Pullover

Here is another make from spring: Wickerwork Pullover by Michele Wang. A beautiful design which I made in my favorite yarn.

For this pullover I had to do some prior calculations. So here are my planed modifications:
Different gauge due to DK yarn - for achieving the second size I ended up using stitch numbers of the fifth size. Total new calculation of stitch numbers of sleeves in stockinette.
Lower front neck - ca. 10 cm
Wider neck - ca. 19 cm
Shoulder shaping with short rows
Top down sleeves - circumference ca. 32 cm
Less fitted sleeves - armhole depth ca. 19 cm
When picking up neckband, taking care to pass the pattern into the 2x2 rib

Hier noch ein Projekt aus dem Frühjahr: Wickerwork Pullover von Michele Wang. Ein sehr schönes Design, für welches ich mein Lieblingsgarn verwendet habe. 

Für diesen Pullover musste ich im voraus einige Berechnungen vornehmen. Hier also meine geplanten Modifikationen:
Andere Maschenprobe aufgrund der Verwendung von DK-Garn - um die zweite Größe zu erhalten habe ich die Maschenzahlen der fünften Größe verwendet. Komplette Neuberechnung der Maschenzahlen für die Ärmel in glatt rechts.
Tieferer Halsausschnitt - ca. 10 cm
Weiterer Halsausschnitt - ca. 19 cm
Schulternform mit verkürzten Reihen gestrickt
Ärmel von oben nach unten gestrickt - Umfang ca. 32 cm
Ärmel weniger eng gestrickt als im Original - Armausschnitt ca. 19 cm 
Beim Aufnehmen der Maschen für das Bündchen am Halsausschnitt ist darauf zu achten, dass das Wickerwork Muster in das 2x2 Rippen Muster übergeht.

The Fielder Dress #2

This is my second The Fielder Dress by Merchant & Mills. I made this one out of a jersey jaquard by Albstoffe with a design by Hamburger Liebe. They produce these high quality 100% kbA fabrics in Germany- and indeed, the fabric is great.

Modifications:
Shorthened length by 10 cm as I´m only 160cm tall.
Lenghtened sleeves by 15 cm for long sleeves.
No pockets.

The pattern has bust and shoulder darts. The neckband and bottom of sleeves is made of cotton rib in black.

This is such a comfortable dress! I made it in April and did wear it until the warmer weather started - mostly as a home dress. I definitly will make another... a perfect dress for winter.

Dies ist mein zweites The Fielder Dress von Merchant & Mills. Ich habe dieses aus einem Jersey Jaquard von Albstoffe mit einem Design von Hamburger Liebe gemacht. Albstoffe produziert hochwertige 100% kbA Stoffe in Deutschland - und in der Tat ist die Stoffqualität toll. 

Änderungen:
Die Länge um 10 cm gekürzt, da ich nur 160 cm groß bin.
Die Ärmel um 15 cm verlängert für lange Ärmel.

Für den Halsausschnitt und die Ärmelabschlüsse wird Strickbündchen verwendet (hier in schwarz).

Dieses Kleid ist super bequem! Ich machte es im April und trug es bis das Wetter wärmer wurde - zumeist als home dress. Es wird definitv ein weiteres geben... ein perfektes Kleid für den Winter.

Delphine Skirt Stag

This is the Delphine Skirt from the  the book "Love at first stitch" by Tilly and the Buttons made in an adorable fabric by  Echino. Well, I have to admit I totaly copied the version Tilly made in 2014. I was very lucky to still find the fabric in these colors in the www...

I´m very satisfied with the result - especially with the distribution of the pattern print. I made size 3 but had to shorten the skirt by 4cm due to my height. Also I tapered the waistband a little bit at the side seams so that it lies flat at the waist.

The skirt has an invisible zipper in the back. I lined the skirt with black lining fabric and made french seams and a rolled hem.

Dies ist der Delphine Rock aus dem Buch "Love at first stitch" von Tilly and the Buttons, gemacht aus einen fantastischen Stoff von Echino. Nun, ich muss zugeben, dass ich Tillys Version aus dem Jahr 2014 kopiert habe. Ich hatte großes Glück, den Stoff in dieser Farbkombination im www noch zu finden... 

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis - insbesondere mit der Verteilung der Hirsche. Ich habe Größe 3 gemacht, jedoch den Rock um 4cm gekürzt, da ich nicht sehr groß bin. Auch habe ich den Bund an den Seitennähten nach oben hin ein wenig verjüngt, so dass dieser flach an der Taille liegt. 

Der Rock hat hinten einen unsichtbaren Reißverschluss. Ich habe den Rock mit einem schwarzen Futterstoff gefüttert und französische Nähte und einen Rollsaum gemacht.

Holly Sweater

This is a Marie Wallin Design from her last book Wildwood. It it the Holly Sweater.

I used Jamieson & Smith 2ply jumper weight yarn and made size S. My gauge for colorwork was 30 sts and 32 rows on 3.25mm needles - so I had to do a little math for row gauge and shaping shoulders and neck. I went mostly with the given color scheme, but substituted a blue for a light brown at one band.

Modifications:
Started with a tubular cast on and knitted the body in the round.
Steeked the armholes for further knitting in the round.
Lowered the front neck i.e. started earlier with the front neck opening.
Divided front and back for shoulder shaping resp. at start of front neck and knitted back and forth in colorwork for the final parts of the sweater.


Dies ist ein Marie Walling Design namens Holly aus ihrem letzten Buch Wildwood.  

Verwendet habe ich Jamieson & Smith 2ply jumper weight Garn und die Größe ist S. Meine Maschenprobe war 30 M und 32 R mit 3.25mm Nadeln - daher gab es ein paar Berechnung für die Länge und für Schultern und Halsausschnitte. Ich habe insgesamt das gleiche Farbschema verwendet, jedoch in einem Musterband ein Blau mit einem hellen Braun ersetzt.

Modifikationen:
Beginn mit einem runden Anschlag und gestrickt in Runden.
Für die Armausschnitte steeks angeschlagen um weiter in Runden zu stricken.
Den Halsauschnitt tiefer gesetzt.
Für die Schulterformgebung bzw. ab Beginn des vorderen Halsauschnitt habe ich die Teile separiert und in Hin- und Rückreihen gearbeitet.

Sockhead Cowl #2

After the first cowl became a favorite piece, another Sockhead Cowl by Kelly McClure was desired by my husband - this time in green. I used the same yarn and color as I did for his last Sockhead Hat. Now he has a matching set.

Nachdem der erste Cowl ein Lieblingsstück geworden ist, wurde ein weiterer Sockhead Cowl von Kelly McClure von meinem Mann gewünscht - diesmal in grün. Ich habe dafür das gleiche Garn und Farbe benutzt, wie für seine letzte Sockhead Mütze. Jetzt hat er ein passendes Set.

The Fielder Nightgown

I had this cute "bunnies with glasses" jersey fabric and was thinking what could become of it. For sure some kind of home wear. Finally I made The Fielder by Merchant & Mills - as a nightgown. This was also for to test the pattern in size and fit.

Sewing went smooth all in all. I omitted the pockets as they are of no use in a nightgown and also because the extra fabric would poke out due to the fine jersey. The pattern has bust and shoulder darts. The neckband and bottom of sleeves is made of cotton rib in dark blue.

For a next The Fielder Dress I would shorten the length to knee length as I`m only 160cm tall. And I think about long sleeves.

Ich hatte diesen witzigen "Hasen mit Brillen" Jerseystoff und überlegte mir, was daraus werden könnte. Sicher etwas für zu Hause. Schliesslich entschied ich mich für The Fielder von Merchant & Mills - als Nachthemd. Dies auch, um den Schnitt in Größe und Passform zu testen. 

Das Nähen verlief insgesamt reibungslos. Ich habe die Taschen weggelassen, da sie in einem Nachthemd nicht viel nützen, und auch, weil der zusätzliche Stoff aufgrund des feinen Jersey ausbeulen würde. Das Schnitt hat Brust- und Schulterabnäher. Für den Halsausschnitt und die Ärmelabschlüsse wird Strickbündchen verwendet (hier in dunkelblau).

Für ein nächstes The Fielder Dress werde ich die Länge auf Knielänge verkürzen, da ich nur 160cm groß bin. Und ich denke über lange Ärmel nach.
